Chickens First

We moved into the farm at the beginning of December 2010. 

Amidst the unpacking and holiday decorating, 

my mind was on the farm and how soon we could get chickens.

I have dreamed about raising chickens for years, 

so now that we were finally on a farm- 

I couldn't wait any longer! 

Everyday I checked Craig's List hoping for a winter miracle...

Finally just in time for Christmas, I found a family nearby that had 6 

chickens they wanted to re-home.

We spent hours building a coop inside the "little barn" and then site unseen, 

we drove to the neighboring town and purchased the 

small flock and brought them home.

Once upon a time...

There was a girl that grew up in the big city

but always dreamed about living out in the country.

Year after year she would dream about life on a farm,

surrounded by a large family and lots of animals.

One day many years later, her dream finally came true.
